Aftercare
- No rubbing the area
- No massage/movement facials post anti-wrinkle injections.
- Laser Genesis is recommended especially if you have bruised we offer bruise reduction 48hrs post any injectable service.
- Dermal fillers are the same as above, unless advised differently by the RN
- No saunas, no excessive exercise for 48hrs, no extreme peels
- A follow up should be done 2 weeks post treatment with our RN
- Post treatment clients may experience any of the following:
- Heat, tightness, possible redness
- Crusting in some areas, this may appear within 24 hours to 3 days post treatment which is perfectly normal
- Excess oil
- Dryness which can last up to 10 days
- If you have had alkaline hair removal/or skin revision your skin may feel little rubbery for about 3-4 days post treatment.
- For hair removal treatments the hair will keep coming off the week following, so your skin texture may feel slightly rough and after 10 days the hair will be starting to grow back again. You may feel stubble, which is temporary, this will subside
- If you are a highly stressed individual, you may also experience fluid retention and puffiness around your eyes and mid face area. This appears the day after the treatment and looks slightly swollen. This is completely normal. Ice the area and the fluid will subside. This should be a sign to start learning to relax and improve sleep and lower your cortisol levels. For more information about this please speak to your skin therapist. We can really help you in this area.
- Some of the factors that can be experienced during and post laser, as mentioned in your consent form:
- DISCOMFORT à A slight warming sensation may be experienced during treatment and post for up to 24hrs
- REDNESS/SWELLING/BRUISING à short term redness (erythema) or swelling (oedema) of the treated area is common and may occur. There also may be some bruising.
- SKIN COLOUR CHANGES à During the healing process, there is a possibility that the treated area may become either lighter (hypopigmentation) or darker (hyperpigmentation) in colour compared to the surrounding skin. This is usually temporary, but, on a rare occasion, it may be permanent in this instance its very unlikely due to the level of this technology and the bio feedback system
- ITCHING/DRY SKIN à Treatment may result in itching and/or dry skin for up to 48 hrs post treatment
- RED RASH/BUMPS à Red rash/bumps may appear after treatment. This resolves with time and prescribed DMK home care
- WOUNDS à Treatment can result in burning, blistering, or bleeding of the treated areas. If any of these occur, please call us at (02 9664 7056) but very unlikely due to the level of this technology and the bio feedback system
- Aftercare for Laser Genesis
- Sunscreen must be worn everyday post treatment. No direct sunlight on the area for 72 hrs.
- No exfoliation for 5 days post treatment
- Avoid hot therapies (sauna etc) excessive exercise for 48 hrs post treatment
- You can ice your skin if it feels warm and you would like relief from it.
- Vitamin A can be used 48hr post treatment in the evening only
- Resume normal prescribed skin care after your treatment.
- If you have any concerns with your skin post treatment please call us 96647056.
- Just a reminder it takes 4-6 weeks for the full results to show and is great combining with DMK Enzyme therapy.

- No heat, no exercise, no sweating, no Vitamin A prescribed creams for 7 days. Can be incorporated with DMK Enzymes, laser genesis only (skin needling), no exfoliation for 7 days
- Sun cream must be worn every day rain, hail or shine after any of our above skin treatments (Sun radiation still penetrates through clouds, reflects and is radiated of devices hence we can not stress enough the importance of sunscreen even working from home!)
